Officials in Hosur have tightened vigil at Zoozuvadi checkpost on Tamil Nadu state border following the detection of Omicron in Bangalore, Omicron is the new variant of Covid-19.
It may be noted that the Union government on Thursday said two cases of the new Omicron variant of coronavirus have been detected in Karnataka and asked people not to panic but follow Covid-appropriate behavior and get vaccinated without delay.
Both the patients are men aged 66 years and 46 years with mild symptoms. Severe symptoms have not been noted, a central government official said during a press conference in New Delhi.
In order to avoid any infiltration of infection from the vehicles and travelers from Karnataka, the officials have started disinfecting the vehicles since Thursday afternoon. They are also checking the temperature of the travelers at the Zoozuvadi checkpost.
Hosur-Zoozuvadi checkpost is the major point through which the travelers from Bangalore can enter into Tamil Nadu.
