Education department has initiated action on a woman teacher and male student in a government school attached to Hosur circle for slapping each other.
The complaint arose that a Plus One studying student slapped the English teacher at the Higher Secondary school in Masinaickenpalli village in Hosur.
Many journals including prominent tamil journals Dinamalar and Dinathanthi have reported on this incident. Based on media reports, Hosur Education District Officer Thriumurugan has conducted enquiry. It came to know that the student changed his seat in the class room that sparked rucks, resulting in teacher slapping the student. So, the student also slapped the teacher.
Following this District Chief Education Officer has initiated action against both of them, a report published by Dinamalar said.
As per Right to Education Act 2009, the action will be initiated against the teacher while the student has been suspended for 15 days and ordered to give counseling. Further, overall counseling for the students and teachers in the school will be offered for a week through retired teachers.
