Hosur Corporation in association with Rotary Clubs in the area will plant 5,000 tree saplings in Brindavan Nagar in Hosur industrial town.
Mr K Balasubramaniam, Commissioner of Hosur Corporation has inaugurated the programme on December 17 by participating in the Bhoomi pooja and sapling plantation.
The programme has ben sponsored by ICON Medicare and RETICARE while it has been implemented by Biotasoil Foundation and Karisakaattupoove Trust.
This is part of the scheme targeting to plant one lakh trees in Hosur by Hosur Corporation and Rotary Clubs.
It may be noted that the Hosur Corporation has been taking various tree plantation projects to increase green cover in the industrial town.
Recently it created a vegetable garden in a government school at Midugarapalli village near Hosur, receiving much appreciation from the public.
