Malaika Arora wows all with warrior pose of Virabhadrasana

Virabhadrasana stretches hips, groins and shoulders, improves stability and balance, enhances respiration and blood circulation

Malaika Arora’s fans in particular and fitness enthusiasts in general are looking forward for Mondays, for the actress-Yoga expert comes up with interesting Asanas on the first working day of the week.

She has not disappointed her followers this time too. Instead, she has wowed them with Virabhadrasana also known as Warrior Pose 2.

Malaika starts off her Instagram post by saying: “It’s time to relax, slow down and celebrate you and your loved ones. Bask in the sun, relax by the pool, exercise every inch of your muscle and welcome new aspirations and goals.”

She further states that this week’s pose is that which celebrates the strength in you- Virabhadrasana also known as Warrior Pose 2.

“The pose stretches your hips, groins and shoulders. Improves stability and balance, enhancing respiration and blood circulation,” she says.

Step by step

Explaining her followers on how to perform the Asana, she said, “Stand-up with legs 4 to 5 feet apart. Keep your right foot at 90 degree angle and with your right toes pointing out, keep your left foot at 45 degree.”

Malaika then asks them to bring their hands by shoulder level, parallel to ground. Then they have to bend their right knee and look towards right hands.

According to Malaika, those performing the Asana have to keep their hip square and right thigh parallel to the ground. They have to hold for 10 to 15 seconds and release the posture, she concludes.
