Malaika Arora is back to enthrall and educate her fans on health and wellness. The actress, who is a Yoga expert, has posted a new asana, which is the first from her in the new year.
She starts off her Instagram post by saying: “Let’s kickstart our Workout and Yoga routine for a new year and and a new week with a shimmer of sweat and an unwavering commitment.”
Malaika, who has posted a picture of her performing the asana from a swimming poll, further states: “To begin with the first #MalaikasMoveOfTheWeek of 2021, let’s strike a pose just as amazing as Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana (Extended Hand to Big Toe Pose).
This pose strengthens and stretches the legs and ankles. It challenges and improves your sense of balance, enhancing your focus and concentration.”
Explaining step by step how to do it, she says, “Stand-up straight with legs together. Bring your left knee towards your belly. Hold the big toe of the left leg with the left hand.”
Inhale, extend
She then asks her followers to inhale, extend their leg to the side shoulder level. Then they have to maintain the balance on the right leg.
“Lift your right hand up. Keep both your knees straight and look forward. Hold for 10 to 15 seconds and release,” she adds.
In a piece of advise as she concludes the post, Malaika says, “Anyone suffering from an injury of the hip, ankle, back, knee or shoulder should refrain from practicing this pose.”
