The office bearers of Hosur City Municipal Corporation Employees Association have handed over their memorandum of demands to Hosur City Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. M Senthil Murugan.
The memorandum comprises the resolutions passed in the meeting of employees association held on July 27, 2021 in Hosur. The demands were for welfare of the employees attached to Hosur Corporation.
The demands include adequate facilities and allowance for staffs, Zonewise operation and requirement of more staffs among others.
It may be noted that in the current Covid pandemic period, Hosur Corporation employees are doing good works- especially in the areas like sanitation and water supply.
Employees association represented by its President Mr M Suresh Kumar, Secretary Mr M Narayanan, Vice President Mr R Venkatesan, Joint Secretary R Siva, Executive Committee members Mr N S Suresh, Mr. K Muniappa, Mr.Krishnareddy and Mr.Bellalappa among others handed over their memorandum to the Commissioner. Along with these office bearers, Cooperative Society President Mr. B M Satheesh, Tamil Nadu Employees Association District President B Chandran, Secretary R Natarajan, Mr.V Devaraj, Mr.C P Jayaraman, Mr.P Chandru, Mr.M Thimmaraj also were present while handing over the memorandum.

Commissioner Mr Senthil Murugan has welcomed the employees and patiently heard their grievances. The Commissioner has assured the employees that he would pay special attention towards their demands and will take necessary measures to fulfill their demands at the earliest.
The employees association has assured of their fullest cooperation by adopting safety measures during the current Covid pandemic for the effective functioning of the Hosur City Municipal Corporation.

It may be noted that Hosur has been upgraded from Municipality to Corporation in 2019. According to sources, the area of Hosur Corporation expanded into 72.41 square kilo meters as compared to 11.71 kilo meters 10 years ago while the population that stood at 2, 45,354 as per 2011 census increased now to 3, 20,880 within 10 years.

In the recent meeting, the employees association passed resolutions stressing the demands including of creating multiple zones, adding more staffs, complete government employee status as to get the benefits of salary disbursements through Treasury as in other departments. Also stressed the provision for house allowance, town allowance and making the contract workers as permanent government employees.
